Kent County Voting: Tentative Agreement

Per the current collective bargaining agreement, the TPOAM opened negotiations with the Employer regarding wages for 2027 and 2028. The TPOAM bargaining team reached a tentative agreement (see attached) with the Employer on April 15, 2026, and is now presenting it to the full TPOAM membership (in good standing) for your consideration and vote.

Please review the attached tentative agreement, which secures the wages listed below and a “Me Too” clause for all non-312 bargaining units, including MPP.

The results of the negotiations are that all bargaining unit members shall receive:

  • A four (4) percent wage increase across the board, effective January 4, 2027.
  • A three (3) percent wage increase across the board, effective January 3, 2028.
  • “Me Too” clause for all non-312 eligible bargaining units, including MPP.

[callout]Voting will open on May 4th at 12:00 p.m. and close on May 11th at 2:00 p.m. Regular voting hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.[/callout]

A voting box will be at each of the following locations:

  • Courthouse 3rd floor
  • Detention center
  • FOC
  • 63rd

[callout]You are responsible for obtaining your ballot from your union steward, and voting must occur during your break time, lunch, or before/after your scheduled work hours.[/callout]

This includes, but is not limited to, attendance at any meeting; voting in any Union election, including Contract Ratification and new By-Laws; or participating in any Union-sponsored events or programs.

Please refrain from using the County email to discuss ANY Union Business. These conversations must be done on your personal time outside of work.
